Life as a Medical Student in Istanbul, Turkey
Istanbul, which spans two continents, has a two thousand year history as the global epicenter and the seat of the Roman and Ottoman empires. The city’s 12 million residents give the impression that it hasn’t lost any of its attraction and luster over the previous century but has simply grown more so.
International explorers are frequently astounded by the city’s size and all of its effects. For instance, because to the hills in the west, Istanbul’s European and Asian regions see varying quantities of precipitation. However, both experience the distinctive morning fogs, which are a local trademark and go great with a hot cup of coffee.
Furthermore, the Fatih district, which was once part of old Constantinople, is located in the city’s European section. The Grand Bazaar, Yildiz Palace, Topkapi Palace, and Hagia Sophia are just a few of the many historical sites there.
Although the Asian region of Istanbul contains fewer landmarks, mostly from the city’s Ottoman era, it most likely has a nicer coastal lifestyle. Additionally, the area of Anatolian Istanbul is significantly more tranquil and lush.
The city also has some amazing parks that are great for recreation. For instance, Topkapi Palace, which served as the residence of the Ottoman sultans until the establishment of the Turkish Republic, is now a park. The Princes Islands, which are off the coast, are another noteworthy point. In the past, they served as exile locations for diplomats; today, they are parks where people may unwind away from the bustle of the city.
